FLAME STOP INTUMESCENT PAINT

Description:

The first Intumescent latex paint that saves 50% in labor due to a single coat application. Stain and mold blocking are added benefits due to new technology. Easy spray, brush, mitt or roll on application. Intumescent paints have been manufactured for over 50 years, however until now no paint has incorporated all of the added benefits especially the most important; a single coat application and a high coverage rate without jeopardizing the life saving low smoke and Class A flame spread.

Flame Stop IM is now 30 minute rated with a 2 coat application and passes the NFPA 703 which is the same standard that must be met with fire retardant pressure impregnated wood.

Basic Uses:

Applications include commercial and residential interior surfaces such as paneling, non-porous substrates, veneer, gypsum board, wood, plastic, previously treated surfaces and MDF.

Advantages:
Class A one coat system. FLAME SPREAD 10. Class A, FLAME SPREAD 0 for 30 minute NFPA 703 with two coats. Flame Stop, Intumescent Paint is user friendly, water based, non-toxic labor saving, mold inhibitor, fast curing, high coverage rate, stain blocker, may be used as a primer or finish coat.

Limitations:
Do not dilute. Storage Range: 45 degrees F. to 110 degrees F. Shelf life: 1 year if kept within storage temperatures. We suggest a small compatibility test.


Applicable Standards:
Flame Stop IM was tested to the following standards:
ASTM E-84, NFPA 255, UL 723: Omega Point Laboratories # 8746-108578
ASTM E-84, NFPA 255, NFPA 703 30 minute : SWRI (Southwest Research Institute) #01.10932.01.195

Application:
Flame Stop IM should be applied as is by spray, brush or roll. Use airless sprayer suitable for applying latex-based paint. Tips sizes vary however we suggest a .017. Apply at the rate of 150 square feet per gallon for ASTM E-84. For NFPA 703 (30 minute test) apply two coats at 200 square feet per gallon.

No other warranty is implied, since Flame Stop, Inc., has no control over the application. Additionally, Resistafire, Inc. cannot provide any additional warranty for products which are sold directly to the consumer for do-it-yourself applications, since we would have no control over the application.
