FLAME STOP I - C

Description:

Flame Stop I-C is a post –treatment fire retardant designed exclusively for fabric that contains a minimum of 25% natural fiber. This product dries clear. This product is designed to not change the color or hand (feel) of the fabric. Flame Stop I-C was vigorously tested by the California Title 19 test, which surpasses the NFPA 701. When the treated material is subjected to an open flame, the retardant will pyrolitically self-extinguish the fire, with minimal smoke. Flame Stop I-C is completely non-toxic and non-hazardous to the environment and easy to apply.

Basic Uses:

Flame Stop I-C should be used for interior fabric applications with a minimum natural fiber content of 25%. Fabrics must be cleaned before application. The life of the flame retardancy is indefinite, as long as fabrics are not wet washed or exposed to high humidity. However, they may be dry cleaned up to 15 times. All of our products were tested using single-coated materials. Flame Stop I-C is often chosen because it is non-toxic, dries clear, and is easy to apply with a sprayer, brush or roller.

Advantages:
Flame Stop I-C has one main advantage over other fire retardants in the market. In most cases, after treatment, the fabric looks and feels exactly the way it did before this product was applied. The fabric gains one characteristic. It becomes fire resistant.

Limitations:
Do not dilute.
Storage Range: 110 degrees F. to 45 degrees F. Shelf Life: 3 years, if kept within storage temperatures.
FABRIC MUST BE CLEANED BEFORE APPLICATION. If the fabric is not clean before application, it may leave dirt streaks. A simple way to test this before application is to spray a small portion with water and notice the characteristics.
A re-coat may be required on some materials.

Applicable Standards:
Flame Stop I-C has been tested to the following standards:
U.S. Testing No. LA41266, California Title 19, FAR 25.853, Meets or exceeds NFPA 701, California State Fire Marshal Approval C-14401.

Application:
Flame Stop I-C should be applied as is by spraying or immersing. In order to be effective, there must be a 2-5% increase in the weight of the fabric. A heavier coat may be needed on fabrics that have a higher density. Since all fabrics have a different density, a small test should be performed by the utilization of a small flame (butane lighter). Hold a 4” x 12” piece of the treated material vertically and apply the flame to the lower portion for 10 seconds. Remove the ignition source. The flame must go out within 2 seconds. This test is similar to the small-scale NFPA 701 field test.

*****After treatment, a minimum 24 hour conditioning period is necessary before testing*****
